Describe your route: All urban, half bike lane and half no bike lane, though I could go a few different routes that have more bike lanes.

How often do you commute by bike? In the warm weather, 3-4 times a week. I think this year I might start cold-weather riding too, but I need to make some adjustments to my bike, my wardrobe and my mechanic skills.

Describe yourself as a biker: Confident, overly cautious, up for endurance challenges.

Commute to work: EDT 8:31 a.m. 21-min. ride

-Every time I see that road work plate in the road at Western and division, I kind of curse it. My leg still hurts from falling over it 2 weeks ago.

-Found out just now that a friend of mine was hit by a car on his way to work yesterday. He's okay, but he doesn't know yet if his bike is. It's his second accident. This first left him in the hospital in need of physical therapy.

-Nice day for a ride today.

Commute home: EDT 5:30 p.m.
-Goose Island can be tricky to ride on in rush hour traffic. Cars don't expect you there, so sometimes you have to go to greater lengths to be vicible or rode on the sidewalk for 10 feet or so just to keep moving because it's such a narrow space. In actuality, I probably shouldn't be riding on Goose Island in rush hour.
